ABOUT US

New Rock Generation is a dynamic and professional rock school for aspiring musicians aged 9 to 18. Designed for creative, like-minded young artists, our program focuses on collaboration, musicianship, and real-world band experience. Students learn to work with fellow musicians in professional rehearsal studio's, gaining invaluable hands-on knowledge.

At NRG, students take the lead in their journey by selecting the songs they rehearse, and working towards writing and performing their own original material. The term culminates in an exciting live showcase at authentic Brighton venues, giving students the invaluable experience of performing live. These venues have included in the past: The Hope and Ruin, The Komedia, Daltons, Brighton Dome Studio.

Our program empowers young musicians with the skills, confidence, and stage presence needed to thrive in the music industry. From mastering their instruments to understanding live sound setups, our students gain the tools necessary to step into the world as confident, capable performers.

"NRG is fun and enjoyable, and I'd recommend it for people looking to expand their musical intuition."

Conor, NRG Drummer

Cecily B (Parent)

"Sophie had drifted away from playing the drums and started to lose interest so we were delighted when she started playing with Sam, Sean and the NRG team as it fired everything up again. She has been playing for 5 years and really loves the weekly sessions at Small Pond Studios. We've enjoyed watching her grow in skills and confidence over the years and really see it in all the performers at the end of term gig. There is such a buzz for all the students at the gigs - exciting atmosphere, a few nerves and great music."

Ewan H, Singer

“NRG has really helped my stage confidence with the gigs feeling better every time I get up there. I really like the Small Pond atmosphere and the chance to feel part of a band. NRG has really ignited my passion for playing rock music and music in general.”

Nicky S (Parent)

"Conor has attended weekly NRG lessons for the last 5 years and also the summer school every year. He has loved writing songs with his band, under the expert tuition of his teachers and has relished the opportunities to perform every term at great venues. His band is close knit and he’s very lucky to have had an excellent experience at NRG"
